Kitchen/Living Main Floor - OPEN 2 French Doors and DECK!!
Lake Norman FUN..... Does this house not reek of fun? Open is the galley kitchen. Not a lot of counter space, really, until you turn around! A work horse this counter is. Beneath are drawers that pull out large, and long enough to house paper goods, pots n pans, appliances, cutlery, cooking utensils, trash bags, and more.
All appliances were purchased 2007, other than the microwave.
New Kitchen Aid refrigerator with water and ice can pack in those groceries. Place the dry goods over in the white pull out shelf pantry cabinet near the French door to the right.
The garbage disposal button is on the left sink platform. (Different arrangement, so you’ll need to look for it.) A full sized stove and oven is to the left of the sink area (We had an incident whereby there is now a little brown spot front.).
Above, in the glass cabinets, you will find additional small appliances, plenty of dishes, mugs, glasses, and a fun ice shaver for ice cones, or Marguerites’.
Tell us if there is a particular type of cooking that you do and if it requires something peculiar to its’ specialty.
If that was not enough....we have an additional island that you can see in the photos, somewhat, having legs wrapped with jute roping and a counter top of nickels end to end! For watching those football games we chose 5 swivel top bar stools which means that 15 people have seating. WOW!! You see, the light maple table shows 2 seats, but the interior of the table houses 2 more. Then there is the click-clack sleeper sofa, orange chairs, swivel naugahyde 60's chair....yep, 15 behinds have a place to park!
Clean your boating supplies, store your skis, keep your ice chest;
This is a DECK! A deck that most large homes do not begin to compare. While choosing to cook on the charcoal grill, or the propane, a glass of cold______something can be enjoyed and as coooool as it gets, keeping ice at hand in the outdoor sink. Seating for 16 out here keeps the crowd moving around randomly. If things start warming up to break a bead while seering that steak, just pop open the larger than big market umbrella. Nicely enough for those with mobility issues, a ramp (can be used for handicap) is on the near side of the house. If you don't want to 'join' the crowd, you can view and cheer things on from inside while peering out the two glass french doors.
Bedroom 1
A nice, comforting visual behind the living area of the home; two bedrooms adjoining a bathroom, 'Jack and Jill, or Hollywood style".
They are small, but well appointed having a closet and this one is furnished with a queen box spring and mattress fitted to a wrought iron frame clothed in elegant fabrics that climb right up the window. Shutters allow for adjusting the moonlight/sunlight while the draperies soften the crisp walls of moderate blue. A romantic notion is in the air with mauves, golds, and, of course, chocolates!!
Decorative pillows give the touches every bed deserves while balancing the feel of the room. Alabaster lamp bases give a beefier approach to the decorating sense, yet provide a necessary, or mood elevating glow which is enhanced by the chocolate striated shades found on a lark!
Above, you see the fans that are mounted in each of the bedrooms to make air circulation a continuous flow and sleeping far more comfortable with a fresh breeze feel.
Bedroom 2
Our second bedroom is crisp, yet warm having burnished amber tones in the window dressing fabric. Golden hues adorn the accent braided fringe fobs atop the cornice panels.
Simple enough, the two twins have one of two sets of linens that we keep for each of our beds which allow for quick turn around times…. keeping our guests wait to minimum.
JSR Walk down the stairway to the lower level and you will find the large living area used as a rec, or game room. Inviting you right into 26 ft. by 12 offering a 3 game table; air hockey, billiards, and ping-pong. A the love seat sitting area with a foot rest lounge chair for cuddling up, conversation, or television. Everyone needs to relax after spending a day boating, fishing, and skiing. It’s great to “ rub-a-tub, towel, and tank out” for the remainder of the night. Here, you can choose to spend some time away from the madding crowd upstairs, downstairs, or out on the huge deck offering not only the 6 person hot tub (spa), but the fire pit and grills all lit by glowing torches. More than likely there will be people out on the upper deck laughing and carrying on while the fire flickers, other are grilling, and yet others cooking and watching DVDs on the flat screen in the upper living area. Our intensions are to locate a high quality sleeping sofa, or murphy bed, for the lower lving-game area. Then, we can offer more sleeping area for two on a queen sleeper! We could sleep 8 totally!
To the right, as you walk down the stair, (you can see the louvered door) is the bedroom 3, offering 2 single beds that can be scooted together if you wish. The door is louvered because we wanted more light to flood into the room.
Next is the lower bathroom having 3 sinks, bath-shower, commode, and stack washer-dryer.
We hope that we have captured the layout and configuration of the house and done so as accurately as possible. The 3 bedrooms are small, 2 up and 1 down . The lower level offers the 3rd bedroom having 2 single beds that can be scooted together for your convenience, if you like. The the sunny yellow walls get dressed differently than the remainder of the house as they are accompanied by a Southwestern theme with hues of green and russets. The sporting paddles provide a 'coaster for your cup', if you will, (actually, we just liked them!!). This is the bedroom for the person who is a light sleeper, or the one who LOVES to sleep LATE. Take your pick!
For those of you who have been here, the 4th bedroom is now a game room with billiards, air-hockey, and ping-pong. Soon we will locate a good queen sleeper-sofa for this room. We do have self inflating air mattresses if you wish.
Easy to keep clean is the porcelain (check, is it porcelain, or ceramic?) tile flooring throughout.

Bathroom 2 - Lower Level
Walaaaah! Here is a pretty BIG bathroom (for a small home...about 1450 SF, but feels larger) having 3 sinks; 2 cobalt blue pedestals and a porcelain pedestal. And do you think that you can see enough of yourself? Gee, got some mirror, and a toiletries cabinet to boot! A place for everything keeps the clutter from making it uncomfortable for the group at hand. Courtesy here is a blessing. Put your personal items away and everyone appreciates the uncluttered cleanliness! The commode is surrounded by a 3/4 wall for some privacy and faces the mirrored bath area slider door. Little shelves are in the cubby area there so that the bathroom stays neat not having to display all the paraphernalia that primping demands, plus TP, cleaners, odiferous sprays….. Bathtub and a shower are here, whereas, the upper bathroom offers a large, tiled, shower with 16 jet panel and no bath. Every well equipped bathroom requires a hair blower so that the guest doesn't have to pack one.....and here it is furnished. You can see the stack washer/dryer is on this bathroom. When using it place your finger inside the washer side dispenser to release the catch that opens it (little tricky I think). They both work great! Please remember to empty the lint trap before drying, and turn off the lights when departing. We really try to keep the cost as low as possible on Water Buoy so that more people have a great place to stay that is very reasonably priced, and right at the lake. So PLEASE, be frugal. Besides, the crew takes notes and they get the major vote on who is inducted into the 'Come Back Crowd'!! We want YOU to want to come back and we want to WANT to have you....ya'll hear?!!
Here at Lake Norman we expect boats and trailers...they come hand, in hand, with the skiing, boating, jet skiing, water sports 'stuff'. Would you believe, for a small house how much there is to offer in not only accommodations and fun stuff, but parking, as well?
The double carport is extended on both sides. These wings create a 40' spread. What a deck and what a carport! One side of the deck offers a ramp making it fantastic for toting things in and out, or for accommodating the handicapped.
There is a parking pad of stone as you pull straight up behind the house, another circular drive to the side at the front door, and yet two additional parking spots under the carport long enough for two vehicles and two trailers. Not enough parking? If you have more than eight vehicles, you might have the wrong address. Yet, we do offer additional parking across the street on Stutts!
