Just a short drive from the highway yet our location feels 'far from the maddening crowd', hence; just off the ‘Beaten Path’ with Lake Norman in your own back yard!!!

The unpretentious street side presentation is lovely, yet just that; unpretentious. Now, entering within..... This acre site offers 207 lineal feet of shore line with a beautiful treed canopy that nestles you in securely, yet permits the settling lake views to resound throughout the home. The side yard invites other recreational activities, or perhaps a tent to pitch!! We are working on refurbishing the horseshoe pit. Please ask with regard to current condition.  The oversized slip has year round water.

PATIO SEATING; extension under upper deck and screen porch OUTDOOR SHOWER !!! Propane Char Broil grill with side burner, PIER PORCH over WATER's edge Slip (boat parking!!) outer walkway,  swim ladder and some water toys lake side sitting area, land seating 2 locations The view is not main channel exposed, it is cove protected, which is excellent for swimming 2) 2 person hammocks 4) gliders 1 bench swing 4) Chaise lounge other benches etc outside and more on screen porch. Shade trees surround and populate the large side yard  offering a BIG  room to play.

MAIN FLOOR (1600/1700SF) has a great room with 16’ cathedral ceiling, kitchen, living, and dining entirely open which supports convenient gathering. The flat screen (37”) television with surround sound rests above the fireplace, where all can view. Kitchen and living room access the screen porch and upper rear deck keeps the ‘boy toys’ and grill (Char Broil 3 burner with additional side burner) within easy access. The skylights give a grand and joyous feeling day and night. During your arrival walk through you may want to take note as to where the lighting switches are located. We have placed many a dimmers, fans, and pendants. Well equipped is the dry bar in the dining area with wine and Champaign flutes. The deck and screened-in porch are accessible from kitchen, great room, and 2 of the bedrooms. The screened porch seems to be a ‘hangout’ place these days. Here is where additional appliances are such as; deep fryer, slow cooker, additional broiler/toaster, rotisserie, pans for grill use, fondue, re-chargeable candles (Please, no candles inside house.), flashlights, grill utensils, chopping blocks, insulated glasses, salt and peppers, skewers….etc.

In addition to the living area there are 3 bedrooms on the main floor. All rooms have ceiling fans, television, fully furnished, bedding of minimally 350-1200 satin Pima, or Egyptian cotton sheets, mattresses. Mattresses; All Basset pillow top 2) queen 1) king (2 Restonic electronic vibrating = king).

Bedroom #1 MASTER ; Located at the far end of the house providing quiet, private recluse. (See photo) Comfortably small, yet seemingly spacious and accommodating with private screen porch walkout, and walk in closet. Queen bed, 1 side table, 1 chest of drawers, 1 television, 1 leather chair and stool.

Bathroom #1; Bath/shower with double sinks, marble floor, Waterpik monster head.

 Bedroom # 2;  Offers private door opening onto deck lake side, small television, copier/printer, queen bed, etc.

Bathroom #2;  Shares a well appointed shower/bath, personal totes (choose yours and keep toiletries organized.) porcelain tile floor

Bedroom #3; Presents 2 Restonic electric vibrating beds together under a four poster mahogany carved frame, 2 side tables. Keep the view open across foot of bed and perched on a ladder-like shelf is  your flat screen television. Touching up your coiffure can be done right in your own room using the wall mount vanity area and mirror (prevents congestion in the hall bath used by bedroom 2 and 3).

 Laundry room is situated across from the shared bath (having washer, dryer, sorter/folding area, iron, shelving and closet)

Look behind the laundry room door one finds small appliances and pantry for back up foods, and goods, which eliminates the clutter that can accumulate in a kitchen.

Each BEDROOM has ceiling fan and fully furnished, television, bedding of minimally 350-1200 satin Pima, or Egyptian cotton sheets, mattresses; All new 1 king Restonic with vibration/elevated , 1 memory foam king , remainder; Bassett 1 Englander twin

The LOWER LEVEL WALKOUT family/rec room

This area has an open, fun, but cozy feel having red leather sofas, art glass lighting pendants, Henry Miller wall art, queen sleeper sofa, billiards, foosball, air hockey, ping-pong, and other board games. On a separate level it provides a great gathering space of 858 SF with fireplace, another surround sound for the 36’ television, leather seating conversation area, gaming area, and flows into another outdoor entertaining area, outdoor shower, and lake fun!!

There are  2 more bedrooms in the lower level walkout;

Bedroom #4; 1 king size four poster rice bed, side tables, lighted cabinet, flat screen with remote, full closet, sconces, and crown uplighting

Bedroom #5 1 double, 2 single, flat screen with remote, desk, wall sconces, crown up lighting, vanity area for grooming, smaller closet (ample)

Bedding area #6 if needed; queen sleeper sofa rec area.

 Vestibule Lakeside entrance to bedroom #5. Relaxing is, just that, relaxing, but one must keep fit!!. So, using the treadmill (Reebok Rx 5000) , privately, in the vestibule allows one to forget the sweat!! This will be removed once we build the kitchenette in the rear vestibule area.

Bathroom #3; on this floor has a larger shower (with another WaterPik Monster head!), porcelain tile floor, heater and exhaust, and area for 2nd set  stack dryer/washer (yet to come).

Outside Lakeside: .

Outdoor shower for boat stuff and dirty feet!!   YEAHHH!!!!

Walk the board walk past two picnic benches and, screened glider and two double hammocks onto a pier which leads onto a spacious pier porch over water. Seating here is; 3 gliders, chairs, and chaise lounge.

The OVERSIZED BOAT SLIP is covered, has a SWIM LADDER for convenience and safety, and boasts a strap hoist for protective aquatic toy owners!! All new furnishings and we listened to you; although you appreciated the closet space, you wanted MORE hooks for hanging, and we did it per your request & hangers when you prefer!! The landscaped yard offers a plank walk to the boat dock and shares a park like setting of trees, beachy area, bench swing, swimming area, and pier porch for picnics at the water side. Glider and hammock encourage afternoon naptime stations! The house is in a private cove that is completely safe for swimming & floating, and is easy access to the main channel for boating & skiing! A convenience store is .9 mi. Shopping, restaurants, theatres 3.5-4 mi..

We now offer boat rentals. Reserve earaly please as our guests get first pick’ens.

 Then there is golfing, fishing, skiing, NASCAR, on, and on…

 Sheets are, of course, provided. Come to “Just off the BEATEN PATH”  and have a wonderful vacation gathering year round.

 We, and the lake, welcome you!! We want all to enjoy and choose to return again! We will listen to your needs and try to comply, especially to special needs individuals. Let us understand your wish and wants for a good time here. We want to share with you the ambiance, the sunsets, the birds chirping and the tree toads whaling! We will have a notebook of info just for your pleasure. Please phone us if there are items that would make your time more relaxing, or accommodating. We want you to have a WONDEROUS time!! If I have time, I could purchase your list of grocery items and leave the receipt for your ready arrival, albeit the grocery stores are right on the way. Please tell us if this is a special occasion of sorts and we will see if there are appropriate actions to take in preparation. Walk into the GREAT, great room having an elegant 16-foot cathedral ceiling and plenty of glass to view the lakeside. Skylights  permit LOTS of natural light stream into the rooms.

Open to all are the the kitchen, living, dining, and conversation / game areas, which are regal, cozy, and perfect for family or business gatherings. Crack open a log for mellowing out at the fireplace, the focal point of the room where mounted is a 37 inch flat screen TV with surround sound. Perfect for movie nights and lazy afternoons you can choose cable, CD, or DVD.

Walk out onto the screen porch and upper rear deck to access the grill and enjoy a great view! Choose a rattan sofa, lazy chair, ladder back chairs, and simply vegetate while the fan whhheeeerrrs above. You could keep a few 'cold ones' in the teak thermal bin on the screen porch for the kiddies to self-serve rather than run to the frig., or you could keep a nice bottle of wine at dry bar in the dining room where there is all the glassware guests might require for a fine dinner.

Now, it's 'the GUY' thing to sit in the bar stools on the deck, let the testosterone roll, and coax the grill to do it's thing after they 'throw one on'. Did we get that right? I think sooooo. A fellow says he 'cooked the meal' when it was actually entertainment at the pit time!

Turn on the CD player on the street side of the living room, it has GREAT sound. The woofer can be boosted and makes for GREAT listening and dancing! Shake your BOOOTAH! 

Captain’s Wheel is right on Lake Norman and features 207 feet of shoreline. You’ll enjoy all the beauty and amenities that this location offers. Relax on the oversized pier porch and listen to the water gently lapping against the posts. Or take a seat at the picnic table on the banks of the lake under a shady tree canopy. At night, a sandy fire pit makes for a great place for everyone to gather and pull out the roasting sticks just to scortch another hotdog and marshmallow. having a covered slip sure helps keep the boat protected form not only sun and rain, but ducky and goosey pooh!! It offers the perfect sanctuary for your water toy, or ours, if you booked it!

Want to play a game of football? Grassy and most usually green (irrigated) the lake front yard and side yards offer the perfect place to play catch, a quick game of croquet, or a cozy place to pitch a tent. Going swimming anyone? Tire yourself out and then pull out using the swim ladder at the boat slip.This makes it easy to get in and out of the lake and take an outdoor shower to wash off the lake water. PLEASE do so prior to entering the spa (hot tub)! Char Broil grill your seared steak and have them come running to chow down the grub! This set up makes it soooo easy to have get-togethers for family, friends, or as a business reward.  There is plenty of outdoor seating, including a pair of two-person hammocks, four gliders, a bench swing, and the comfortable chaise lounge.

Everyone seems to enjoy the fire pit, regardless the temperature outside, so grab a roasting stick and make s'mores!

This deck measures (_get this_____) the length of the house = BIG and was built May of 2008.

In the middle of the lower lake side deck is the 7 person spa (hot tub) providing jets and bubbles that hit the spot, every spot!! Do your skiing, tubing, or fishing, and come relax in the bubbles and gurgles that surge and sing to your aching muscles!  Please remember to shower (outdoor shower with hot and cold water) as the lake bacteria would like to taint that hot tub!

This is a natural gathering spot for next to the spa is table and chairs for chatting along with the 'soakers' in the hot tub.

Speaking of the outdoor shower....look down, there is a foot wash too!

We temporarily took out the stainless sink, but it will return. If not there and you would like it, just ask.

Toys are kept tidily under the stair for handy use. The 2 super soakers seem to get good use!  Noodle floaties and velcro throw kits keep little ones busy bodies.

Two woven rockers make you want a cup of tea, or  a mint julep, and sit to watch the gang have good cheer while the sun slowly sinks into water and trees. You have probably had enough water for this day and plan an early fishing trip, so, grab the foot vibrator and shake the knots away. After that long day on the boat, you deserve it! This is vacation! You don't THINK about having FUN, you just DO IT!!!!!  LOL

We usually try to keep a couple of fish'en poles around, so look near the cubby across from the stair. That is also where you will find the charger to the 10' Jon boat troller (small, but fun).

Worms and such can sometimes be found in the lower refrigerator (sorry ladies!!), or can be purchased 24/7 at the BP station on Brawley School Road just about a mile down. Maybe the Bloom grocery Store will carry them soon also.

We did have additional appliances and furnishings out here for convenience, but the pollen (and critters!!) seemed to gather.

We do have a great place here to hang, and sit, and vege, and mellow out, and meditate, and drift away, and coo a song, and listen to God's green acre, and sip your coffee, sup your wine!!

Feel it? Just DO IT!! Come sit with those you enjoy, or with those you need/want to mingle.

Wicker sofa and lazy chair, or ladder backs for those at attention, or littler ones provides planty of seating in a cozy atmosphere.

Turn the music on low and let the fan breezes blow away all but pleasantries and fairy-like things.  Keep snacks and bevs in the teak bin so that they are always at arm's length  from thirst or hunger.  Now place those feet up on the table and listen.........

Wonderful thing about the kitchen....EVERYONE can help the cook company! 

Look at how open and spacious it is from the minute you walk in! Living, dining, kitchen, game/conversation area, fire place, dry bar,  and the flat screen, ALL mesh together with space abound!

Need a breath of fresh air? the french doors can lead you to either the screened porch, or the upper deck lake side.

 The kitchen features all stainless steel appliances, including a Advantium 120 micro/oven/broiler, a GE refrigerator with water and ice cubes, Whirlpool Gold dishwasher, and GE oven and range. and disposal.

Offering privacy is the master, on the far side of the house. All other bedrooms are either on the other end, or on the lower level. Slip outside alone on the screened porch after all have gone to bed , or share intimate coffee chatter in the early AM!

Black head and footboards, side table, and white crisp comforter lure a body down! Beauty Rest mattresses support and caress the body all night. (Bedroom 3 offers electronic Restonic, and bedroom 4 is tempurpedic.)

The master bath allows for both to prepare for the day having separate sinks. If you prefer baths, or showers, the opportunity to choose adapts to many of varying preferences. The marble floors may be cool, but we know that they are CEAN!!

Under the counters, in the lower cabinetry, is the emergency kit and back up toiletries. Please replace what is used personally. Thank you!  

The master bedroom is on the main floor of the house and offers private access to the screen porch and a walk-in closet. A private bath features double sinks, bath and shower, and marble floors. All bedrooms have 350-1200 satin Pima or Egyptian cotton sheets and Basset pillow top mattresses.

Sink into this luscious queen size bed having all the glory of windows two sides of the room providing an open view to the lake and thick tree canopy 24/7! Comforter, woven over blanket, decorative pillows, along with the sumptuous linens, are enough to make you want to stay right here!

 Second of the bedrooms features a queen size bed, is also on the main floor of the house, and offers private access to the lake-side deck. All bedrooms have 350-1200 satin Pima or Egyptian cotton sheets and Basset pillow top mattresses.

You might want to close the blinds as this room heats up in the day time due to its location.

Bedroom 3 is a bad back's haven! Electronic, vibrating, beds with elevation options and patterns from which to choose!

Sleep snuggled together, or catch you ZZZZZZZZ apart. 

For private viewing, another  flat screen television with DVD is provided on the ladder-like shelving. We are in the process of collecting DVD movies as a library for your convenience.

Blinds for window treatments are not needed here for privacy! They are there for maintaining a darker feel for those late sleepers! This IS a cheery and sunny room adorned with wall hangings of old  family photos. 'The Old Oak Tree', and our children, (not little any more!!) are hung to greet you!

Primp a little before the day moves on? Do it in complete privacy while freeing up the bathroom use. The wall hung mirror and vanity shelf allows for your personal touches to be convenienced and your 'grand entry' timely! Grooming within one's room  alleviates any potential bathroom congestion. 

All bedrooms have 500-1200 satin Pima or Egyptian cotton sheets ( except twins, some are 350) and Basset pillow top mattresses, Tempurpedic, or Restonic mattresses - NEW, 2007.

Bedroom 3

The laundry room features porcelain tile floor, a FULL Size washer and brand new dryer. Be sure to clean the lint trap!.  It also includes a folding area, iron and ironing board.  You will find the shelves and enclosed closets with ample storage to help keep the house tidy during your stay.

This lower level room is a great place for adults and teens to kick back and relax. Sprawl out on the leather seating area and take in a movie on the 36 inch TV with surround sound. Have fun in the gaming area, and open the doors to lead to the outside living space. Billards, pingpong, foosball, and air hockey are there for your competitive pleasure! Infront of the fireplace is not only the red leather sofas, but a new pull out sofabed; a queen size sleeper!

The fourth bedroom on the lower level  walkout features a mahogany 4 poster king size bed. Notice the  double crown moulding with uplighting strips. This feature, in addition to the cobalt sconces, and dimmable fan lights, creats a "mellow mood". Bright lighting available by the 3 halogen lights above the bed. 

A large closet provides shelving as well as, the chest back lit, those under the television, and side bed tables with drawers provide MORE than ample storage which prevents the house from becoming messy.  

Enjoy your own private cable television with ALL the channels and DVD with surround sound. 

The closet space is MORE than sufficient for two vacationers, or executives!

Here again, ther are two cobalt dimmable sconces and double crown moulding uplit. A television rests upon a glass topped, hand painted desk with a mirror above for personal grooming.

The closet is not huge, but ample, especially for a week, or two!

The arty fan is controlled by wall switches dimmer controls.

The workout room became multipurpose; features a Reebok RX 5000 treadmill making it easy to get in your morning cardio even on vacation.
